Q&A: What healthcare marketers need to know about privacy

This webinar is not just a discussion but a roadmap for ethical, effective marketing in the healthcare sector.

During the session, Ben and Jodi answered healthcare marketing questions from the audience. When asked what every pharma marketer should know about privacy, Ben spoke to the importance of not suppressing markets because of their state privacy laws. Though these regulations require nuanced discussion, they don’t require brands to stop ads that highlight life changing treatments. “It’s important for a lot of these companies to get their message to the people of those states rather than just lopping them off entirely,” Ben said. “There’s a way to do it right. Getting your message out is important.”

When asked about ethical marketing practices in the realm of privacy, Jodi suggested adopting the audience's perspective. Ben agreed that brand marketers should try to live up to the expectations of the consumer, and he added that data sources should meet all of the requirements under privacy law.
