Swoop is looking to break the vicious cycle of ever more interruptive ads and ever more invasive targeting.  We do this by fundamentally changing the current display advertising model. We DISCOVER the things the consumer is interested in when they are thinking about them. We INVITE consumers to have a conversation.  We focus on simply providing the most valuable information and the best possible USER EXPERIENCE.

 

Serendipitous discovery

Swoop is a unique multifaceted search product that integrates into existing content sites.  We strive to understand the content consumers are browsing, down to the individual words.  We understand the context of consumers’ actions by applying deep domain expertise.  When appropriate, we add in consumer history and preferences.  All of this allows us to identify billions of serendipitous moments where deep contextual relevance allows us to present content and offers which link directly to consumer interest and intent.

 

Invitation-based engagement

Swoop is dedicated to the idea of permission marketing and to providing immediate value to the consumer.  Once we identify the moment of expressed intent or interest we signal that to the consumer and invite them to engage with the information we provide, some of which may be relevant marketing messages.  If we don’t have something compelling to say we just don’t say anything at all.

 

Better user experience

Swoop is a consumer service. Because we are not an ad network, our approach to user experience is markedly different from that of traditional advertising ecosystem players:

 

  • We do not ask publishers to cut holes in their pages for ads. Our content is adapted to each individual site and dynamically inserted into pages in a design-aware manner.
  • We only show messages to users when there is compelling relevance. Otherwise, we stay quiet.
  • We provide users with relevant information, even in instances where we do not earn revenue.
  • Rather than trying to get a user to leave a site to view advertising content, we show all our content–free and sponsored–on the page the user is already on.
  • We have built an end-to-end system that operates outside of the traditional display advertising ecosystem in order to protect consumer privacy minimize data leakages and malvertising threats.
